 Prochka Carnival (International Mask Carnival)

Dates: February 22, 2026 (Note: This event always takes place exactly 7 weeks before Orthodox Easter, usually in late February or early March). Prilep’s centuries-old tradition of masking has grown into a massive international carnival, officially part of the European Federation of Carnival Cities (FECC). Over 1,000 participants-including the famous traditional "Mechkari" (Bearmen)-parade through the center. Expect concerts, club parties, exhibitions, and traditional Macedonian food!

Dates: May 15 – 17 (Fixed dates annually) Step back in time as the city celebrates its most legendary historical figure, King Marko, marking the anniversary of his passing. "Vojdan Chernodrinski" Theater Festival

Dates: Early June (Typically the first two weeks of June) Established in 1965, this is the most prestigious theater festival in the country. Named after the founder of modern Macedonian drama, it showcases the absolute best theatrical performances and productions from across North Macedonia.

"Pece Atanasoski" Festival of Folk Instruments and Songs

Dates: Early July (Usually the first weekend of July) A unique event in the Balkans! Founded in 1974 by Macedonia's most famous bagpiper (gajdadžija), this festival preserves the ancient skills of playing traditional folk instruments. With thousands of performers from all over the world having attended, it is a spectacular display of authentic folklore.

Prilep Pivo Fest (Beer Festival)

Dates: Mid-July (Typically the third weekend of July) One of the biggest summer parties in the Balkans! For four days, the center of Prilep transforms into a massive festival grounds.
